Spiritual Activities

Chapel services are a central part of Indian Bible College. They are held three times a week, where students, faculty and staff join together in worshipping God.

while attending I.B.C.

Furthermore, faculty and students have a special prayer time together once a week, and faculty members also begin with prayer each class session.

In addition to weekly Chapel services, the College also sponsors a Fall Bible Conference and Spring Lectures where special speakers challenge both the staff and students to deepen their spiritual walk with our Lord Jesus Christ. Also, every semester students take time out from the academics and go on a witnessing trip to an Indian Reservation in Arizona or any of the western states.

Lastly, another significant activity that students participate in, is the vast opportunity for weekly Christian service assignments in churches, youth ministries, jail ministries, preaching in rescue missions, etc.

Social Activities

They say Indians don't necessarily smile, laugh, or talk, but they sure eat like it's necessary. So naturally, any kind of food sharing is the main-stay of student's social activities. Often, at the end of a hard week, one will find the students cooking hotdogs and burgers in the courtyard, enjoying a good time of fellowship.

Besides cookouts and picnics, IBC students also find the following activities profitable for Christian service:

The men play some non-conference basketball games with other Bible Colleges in Arizona.

The College also sponsors Focus on the Future, an opportune time for potential students to participate in open house activities for two days during the spring semester.

Also, on Saturdays, students like to attend nearby Indian Christian functions like Bible conferences, camp meetings, fellowship meetings, and especially if fry bread is sure to be served.

In the last few years, when spring semester concludes, they have gone on a two-day camping and fishing trip before they depart for their respective reservations and the summer break.

Student Counseling

The low student/faculty ratio makes it possible for a counseling program to function effectively on a formal as well as an informal basis. Academic and personal counseling is available through the offices of the Academic Dean or Dean of Students. Students are also encouraged to meet with their instructors regarding academic matters.

Student Concerns

Quality of Life: Being a Christian institution of higher learning requires that the students, faculty and staff of this school evidence a quality of life that glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ.

We all enjoy Christian liberty,
but our liberty is expressed in the confines
of a community.

Therefore, all that we do must glorify the "Head" of the community, contribute to the welfare of each member and aid the harmonious edification of that community in spiritual and numerical growth. Rules and regulations are not standards for the spirituality of a Christian's life, but they can strengthen a believer's testimony and help promote harmony among the college family.

Students are encouraged to develop and maintain a personal, daily walk with Jesus Christ through prayer and personal Bible reading. Other opportunities for spiritual growth and worship are available.

Campus Housing is limited. Single students' dormitory space is provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. The

few married students' accommodations are on the same basis.

Health: Eligible American Indians may use the NACA Family Health Center, Indian Public Health, at the Flagstaff Medical Center (1355 North Beaver Street, Suite 160). Students must arrange for their own transportation (public transport is available) except for emergencies.

Appointments should not be allowed to interfere with class attendance.

Indian students not registered with a tribe or whose tribe is not recognized by the Department of Interior as being eligible for Federal programs and Non-Indians are expected to carry their own hospitalization insurance.

Students wishing to bring Vehicles on the campus must provide the college with a copy of the following: current liability insurance, valid vehicle registration and current driver's license.
