Entrance Requirements

Since the purpose of Indian Bible College/Southwestern School of Missions is to prepare men and women to be leaders in Christian service, it is required that applicants confirm the fact that they have accepted Christ as their personal Savior. It is important that the applicant give indication of a lifestyle that is consistent with Christian principles.

To assist in this evaluation the college requires:

  • • References from a pastor or missionary;

  • • References from an employer, school staff or a non-family friend; and

  • • A brief statement (biography) consisting of family background, conversion experience and
       reason for wanting to attend Indian Bible College.

  • • A signature of agreement with the IBC doctrinal position.

Academic Requirements
Applicants to the degree programs (or credit for any Moody course) are required to have a high school diploma or a high school equivalency diploma (GED diploma). It is suggested that students not meeting this requirement complete the GED locally during their first year and take a reduced program at IBC until this requirement is met.

Students for the diploma or any certificate course (on campus or by extension) are exempt from the above requirement, but must maintain the academic standards stated below in Academic Policies.

All entering students are required to take an English placement test to determine the level of the English course in which they will be enrolled or any need for tutoring in English.

International Students; All students from other nations applying for admission must have a valid student visa acquired from the US Immigration and Naturalization Service. Application for this visa is done at the US Embassy or Consulate in their country.
